Quantum Systems has increased the speed of its experimental Apex Recordhunter drone to 777 km/h
The Apex Recordhunter, an experimental battery-powered drone developed by the N3XT division of German company Quantum Systems, has reached speeds of up to 777 km/h during a test flight. The device covers a distance equal to the length of a football field in half a second.

The developers reported this in a post on LinkedIn. According to company representatives, the tests were monitored by independent experts, and the GPS readings were additionally checked with the flight log data from the “black box”.
The test flight was the first stage in an attempt to officially set a world record. To finally confirm the result, the team must conduct a second run in the opposite direction, preparations for which are already underway.

It was previously reported that this drone has been developed over the past year. To achieve aerodynamic and speed characteristics, engineers used a number of specially designed parts. In particular, a unique battery was created by V4Smart GmbH, a subsidiary of Porsche AG.
Speed indicators increased gradually: if in June 2026 internal tests stopped at 699 km/h, then since then engineers have managed to increase the maximum speed of the device by another 78 km/h.
The technologies of this platform are planned to be integrated into future anti-aircraft interceptors, which will be tested in Ukraine.
German Quantum Systems, which manufactures drones in Ukraine, has attracted $1.2 billion in investment and doubled its valuation. What will the funds be used for?
