Radionor Communications, a defense company based in Trondheim, Norway, is opening a representative office in Ukraine. It develops communications technologies that can be used on unmanned aerial vehicles.
This was announced by the Ministry of Defense following a meeting with a delegation from Radionor Communications, led by its CEO Raymond Söderholm.
The Ministry of Defense noted that Radionor is a «long-standing supplier of electronic warfare-resistant communication technologies» to the Defense Forces of Ukraine. It is known that the company is working on the technology of high-performance tactical broadband data transmission channels based on phased antenna arrays.
«We offer a unique technology based on a full-band mobile communication network. The products can be used on both manned and unmanned vehicles, from large ships to unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as on portable equipment», — the Radionor description notes.
This technology can transmit voice, images, video, telemetry, and location data over long distances, providing situational awareness in both military and civilian applications.
«Together with our Ukrainian partners and with the support of the Norwegian government, we expect to deliver more equipment. Our goal is to improve the capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles and help the Ukrainian army train in their use», — said Raymond Söderholm.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Valery Churkin reported that the meeting discussed the prospects for creating a service center for Radionor products in Ukraine.
«The presence of a representative office of the company in Ukraine will simplify the maintenance of its products, allow for professional training of the Ukrainian military, and therefore make the use of these types of weapons as effective as possible», — says Valery Churkin.
Earlier, the Czech company Excalibur Army officially opened its representative office in Ukraine. It will focus on the joint production of artillery ammunition, in particular 155 mm shells, with Ukrainian Armored Equipment LLC.
