Deputy Minister, Brigadier General Anatoliy Klochko, said this in a video on the YouTube channel of the Ministry of Defense.
«We summed up the results, and we received 47% of the planned activities,» he stated.
Regarding the sources of funding for the missile program, Klochko reported that the development is financed from three sources — from the state budget, from the funds of those enterprises that have expressed a desire to engage in the missile sector, as well as from the finances of international partners.
«I wouldn’t say that we have hundreds of such enterprises, but there is the necessary number that would ensure the implementation of the missile program. They are showing a very smart initiative. The direction of financing from the funds of enterprises is effective in that a private enterprise does not require funds to develop its own production,» said Klochko, noting that the characteristics of weapons and their cost from such enterprises may be better than those offered by state structures.
In addition, the Deputy Minister of Defense added that currently the domestic military-industrial complex provides up to a third of the weapons needs of the defense forces.
As dev.ua wrote, according to the director of the Center for Army Research, Conversion and Disarmament, Valentin Badrak, the domestic ballistic missile Sapsan demonstrated a speed of Mach 5.2 (1,769.5 meters per second) during tests, which is significantly higher than that of the American ATACMS missiles (Mach 3 or 1,500 m/s) and closer to the speed of the Russian Iskander-M (Mach 6, or 2,100 m/s).
