This is stated in a video published by the brigade commander Robert «Magyar» Brovdi on his Telegram channel. As «Militarny» notes, the project was implemented with the support of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, the National Guard, the State Border Service, and the Kherson Military Technical Unit.
The video shows how the system intercepts the video signal, which allows it to determine the direction of the drone’s flight, and also blocks the communication channel between the operator and the drone.
«Magyar» said that these systems detected 47 drones over the city in one day, of which 39 were suppressed. On another day, 37 drones were recorded, 25 of which were suppressed.
The commander of «Birds of the Magyar» noted that Kherson residents can already feel the positive results of the system’s operation, but urged them to remain vigilant, as drones can fall uncontrollably and explode.
As is known, Russian occupation forces are conducting so-called «human safaris» in Kherson. This is the name given to a targeted terrorist campaign that involves the use of drones to deliberately attack Ukrainian civilians. The close location of Russian troops to the city allows them to use FPV drones to kill and terrorize Kherson residents.
«The Russian Federation said in Telegram channels that they are organizing a safari in Kherson. The flight zone in the south for drones in Kherson is actually unobstructed. And when they announce a missile threat, we hear sirens. But in Kherson, these sirens simply do not exist during a drone attack,» said Hero of Ukraine, commander of the artillery reconnaissance division of the separate artillery brigade of the National Guard, Major Vitaliy Lytvyn, at the presentation of the Atlas project.
Atlas is a 1,300 km long «EW wall». Kvertus, a manufacturer of EW and RER equipment, calls Atlas the most ambitious and large-scale security project in the history of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Its ultimate goal is to cover the entire 1,300 km long front line with intelligent electronic defense systems, creating an «anti-drone wall» worth about UAH 5.2 billion.
«This will not only be the safety of servicemen performing tasks on the front lines, but also the safety of civilians,» says Major Lytvyn.
