According to Novikov, the Register is currently consolidating information about individuals who are restricted from participating in gambling, so that gambling organizers can verify the person and, if necessary, prevent them from playing. This is reported by Opendatabot.
Gennady Novikov noted that the Register of Gamblers is operating in experimental operation mode and may have more functions for the «convenience of citizens and the market».
«The plans are to create a full-fledged product on the „Diia.Engine“ platform. The new registry will meet all the requirements of the legislation on the protection of personal data and other aspects, and will also contain additional functionality for gambling organizers», — said the head of PlayCity.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation presented the «Diia.Engine» platform in the fall of 2023. This is a tool that allows authorities to quickly create registers, automate services and databases.
According to Gennady Novikov, migration to «Diia.Engine» will automate and make the process of submitting applications for entering a person into the register more convenient. Thus, citizens with a gambling addiction will be added to the Register in just «a few clicks» and will receive restrictions on access to gambling.
As of March, there were 12,807 Ukrainians with a gaming addiction in the register. In the first two months of 2025, 1,719 people have already been added to the register, that is, on average, 860 per month — 10% more than in 2024. 99% of all entries in the register are voluntary applications, and only 1% of gambling addicts received limited access by decision of the KRAIL.
