«I found a job in IT twice. And I lost it twice. It’s not the best moment, to be honest, with a baby in my arms to experience it a second time. But it was at this time that I finished what I had been building for almost a year in my free evenings — my first mobile application,» Beldyugin said.
He said he created Remindly: Family Planner for himself and his wife because he was constantly forgetting things. The app has shared shopping and to-do lists and a wish list for the whole family.
«I constantly forget what I need to buy at the store. My wife asks me to buy something, but I won’t take one thing. She asks me to do something around the house — it flies out of my head. And I’m not a bad man, I just forget,» the developer explained.
Among the advantages, he mentions simple, uncomplicated functionality that works within a single family group. Wishes from the wish list can be shared with the entire group or shown to just one person. The application also supports synchronization between all devices.
«This is not a million-dollar startup. This is just my small step forward in a very difficult time,» noted Yevgeny Beldyugin.
Remindly: Family Planner is available on the App Store and Google Play. It has a 14-day free trial, and a premium subscription costs «like two bottles of milk.»
