Former car salesman Taras Oliyarchuk, who worked in official car dealerships for nine years, developed the RevUp service. It is a personal car office that systematizes vehicle maintenance costs, which should replace chaotic entries in notes and instant messengers.
«People often approach buying a car very emotionally: choosing the brand, equipment, color, test drive, all these pleasant moments. But as soon as the car is in use, a different story begins», the developer said on Reddit.
He noted that he has been working in the automotive industry since 2015. The idea to create RevUp arose while working at official dealerships. According to Oliyarchuk, buyers often experience stress after purchasing a car because of the need to keep in mind maintenance schedules, insurance terms, and repair details.
«The next day or a few days later, customers would definitely call and ask: what? How? Why? So I thought for a long time about how to improve these moments and make life easier for the new owners,» explained the RevUp developer.
As a result, he decided to create a simple but «smart» auto-cabinet that would solve these problems.
RevUp is a web application (PWA) that acts as a digital assistant for drivers. It helps aggregate all your car data — from the date of your last oil change to digital copies of your insurance policies — into a single interface.
The main features of the service include:
monitoring fuel costs and repairs;
reminders about scheduled maintenance and insurance;
storage of documentation and service history.
«One detail was especially valuable to me: I received positive feedback from a person who uses a screen reader. She was able to work comfortably with the application through voice narration. And honestly, this was the moment after which I became even more convinced that I was moving in the right direction, and even got goosebumps! Because a good product is not only about functions, but also about accessibility for different people,» noted Tarasya Oliyarchuk.
RevUp is currently available as a website and a PWA version for iOS. The Android version is in closed testing. According to the developer, the functionality of the office has already been fully tested, and final UI tweaks are currently underway.
The release on Google Play Market is scheduled for April 26–27, after Google’s reviews are complete.
«For me, this project is very personal. Because it’s not just code or another idea for the portfolio. It’s an attempt to make something useful from real experience that I myself have had working with clients and seeing their daily problems,» says the author of RevUp.
In the future, the developer plans to expand the application’s capabilities with new features, but at the release stage, the focus is on the stability of the current version and basic user comfort.
Дуже не вистачає функціоналу бекапа та відновлення, з можливістю імпорту даних з іншого додатка. Я роблю петпроект, схожий за функціоналом, для можливості зʼїхати з р*снявого додатку, де нажаль який може експортувати дані в json. В своєму проекті я зробив імпорт такої структури для можливості переносу даних.
Також в поточній версії є можливість обрати "Газ/Бензин", але нема можливості обрати тип пального при заведенні події заправки.
