In MrBeast's new video, all mentions of Ukraine and the war have disappeared from the Russian dubbing on YouTube
One of the world's most popular YouTubers, MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson), has posted a video in which he rescues a thousand animals from different parts of the world, including three lions from Ukraine, whose zoo was damaged by Russian shelling. However, the official Russian audio track on YouTube has removed references to the war and Ukraine that are in the original, and the Russian voice actor is banning users for asking how this happened.
The video, titled I Saved 1,000 Animals From Dying, was released on MrBeast's channel on October 26. It features Donaldson helping animals in need of rescue.
"We're traveling from South Africa all the way to Ukraine, where years of war have destroyed zoos, leaving rescued lions to survive in makeshift shelters. But because they're still under threat from war, we'll be taking them out by plane," Donaldson said.
With air travel still banned in Ukraine due to the full-scale Russian invasion, the lions were likely transported by land to one of the friendly neighboring countries, from where they were picked up by a specially equipped cargo plane with the seats removed. According to the YouTuber, the lions from Ukraine received “first class tickets.”
This YouTube video has 24 audio tracks in different languages, but users noticed that the Russian dubbing is different from the others.
“In the Russian version, all references to Ukraine and the war have been removed. In the Russian audio track of MrBeast, Alexander Skidanov blocks users who ask why Ukraine was removed,” wrote user X (Twitter) with the nickname karaylo.
