The plot is like something out of a spy movie: Russian intelligence hacked the iPhone of Jared Kushner (Trump's son-in-law), but the Dutch recruited the spy and gained access themselves
The Dutch military intelligence agency MIVD learned about the hacking of Jared Kushner's iPhone (Donald Trump's son-in-law) by the Russian GRU, recruited the hacker, and for years quietly monitored secret US financial and diplomatic operations in the Middle East.
The Dutch military intelligence agency MIVD learned about the hacking of Jared Kushner's iPhone (Donald Trump's son-in-law) by the Russian GRU, recruited the hacker, and for years quietly monitored secret US financial and diplomatic operations in the Middle East.
This is stated in the new book by the famous American investigative journalist Matthew Cole, "Princes and Thieves: Jared Kushner and Mohamed bin Zayed's Secret Plot to Remake the Middle East," Cybernews reports .
Double fracture and special surgery in the UK
In 2017, while serving as Trump's senior adviser, Kushner was responsible for Middle East negotiations. According to the investigation, the Russian GRU easily gained access to his iPhone because he was using a personal phone instead of a secure government device.
However, in late 2018, the Dutch intelligence agency MIVD tracked a Russian hacker heading to the UK. In agreement with the British, the Dutch agents gave the hacker a choice: either prison in Britain or cooperation. The hacker agreed and gave the MIVD access to the GRU server in Rostov, where screenshots from Kushner's phone were stored.
The Dutch decided not to alert their US allies, but instead replicated the exploit themselves. This allowed them to receive a live feed of Kushner's screen whenever he used his phone, and store all the data on their own servers.
Shadow $1.75 billion and offshore accounts
While monitoring the screen, Dutch intelligence recorded Kushner entering a bank in Dubai, where about $750 million was held in the Alpha account. According to Cole, this account belonged to the UAE government fund Watani Al Emarat Foundation and was used as a “black box” for unaccounted diplomatic purposes in conjunction with UAE leader Mohamed bin Zayed.
In addition, the investigator's sources claim that another $1 billion was transferred to a separate account at the Central Bank of Israel "for Kushner's personal benefit." The funds passed through complex chains, including banks in Azerbaijan. Under US law, Kushner was required to declare any accounts to which he had access.
Kushner's reaction and possible lawsuits
Jared Kushner, who is currently involved in negotiations for a peaceful settlement between Russia and Ukraine alongside special envoy Stephen Witkoff, called these accusations "absolute madness."
"During that period, I was under the most meticulous surveillance in the world, undergoing numerous congressional and special counsel investigations. None of these allegations ever surfaced because they never happened," Kushner X said.
Kushner's lawyer, Chad Mizell, called the claims "absolutely false" and said he intends to sue. However, as journalist Kim Zetter notes, in the event of a defamation lawsuit, Kushner would have to disclose his bank statements, transfers, and personal correspondence under oath.
