Russia is testing interceptor drones that resemble Ukrainian STING drones

The Russian Research and Production Center «NPC BASiRTK» has shown tests of its vertical take-off interceptor drone. It has four engines and resembles an effective Ukrainian drone from the Wild Hornets company.

«Military» reports that the technical characteristics of the Russian drone are currently unknown. The Russian Federation plans to use it to monitor the maritime situation and infrastructure.

The publication believes that in developing their drone, the Russians could have borrowed solutions from Ukrainian analogues, in particular the STING drones, which have already proven effective in intercepting various types of UAVs.

TheSTING drone was first shown last fall. It was the first drone specifically designed to defeat Iranian Shahed drones launched by the Russians. At the same time, the STING costs much less than the Russian-Iranian drones and can fly at speeds of more than 160 km per hour and climb to an altitude of about 3 km.

A company representative previously said that its STING interceptor drones had intercepted more than 600 Russian UAVs in five months. These interceptors cost tens of times less than their targets.

Recently, Wild Hornets reported that their products caused about $2 billion in losses to the Russian army .
