Developers in DefTech earn 14% less than their colleagues in IT overall. But junior salaries are higher

Thisis reported by DOU, based on the responses of 73 developers working in the DefTech field.

Backend developers have the highest median salary — $3,550, and it is almost the same as the backend level in IT in general .

Full Stack developers earn $2,400, which is $600 less than in IT.

The biggest difference is in the salaries of Embedded developers: $2,250 in DefTech and $3,500 in IT ($1,250 less).

Senior developers in DefTech earn an average of $3,800, which is $700 less than in IT. Mid-level salaries are $450 less on average.

For juniors, on the contrary, salaries in DefTech are higher than in IT in general: $1,100 versus $830.

68% of developers surveyed at DefTech consider their salary level insufficient, and only a quarter noted that the pay corresponds to their level of qualifications.
