Ukrainian language support added to Google Gemini Extension
Google announced that it has localized Gemini Extensions in more languages, including Ukrainian, to «make it easier to access information and complete tasks» in Google services, applications, and tools.
Google announced that it has localized Gemini Extensions in more languages, including Ukrainian, to «make it easier to access information and complete tasks» in Google services, applications, and tools.
«In addition, we are making Gemini Live available in more languages (the feature is already available in Ukrainian), allowing you to have natural conversations in different languages», — the company noted on its blog.
Extensions work directly within Gemini and allow users to do more with the apps and services they already use, such as Gmail, Maps, and YouTube. Google has also recently expanded the number of supported extensions, including Google Calendar, Tasks, Keep, Utilities, and YouTube Music.
«Now you will be able to use these extensions in all languages supported by Gemini, including Ukrainian, which will make your tasks much easier», — the company said.
The latest Gemini extensions are now available in all supported languages on Android, and will roll out to iOS in the coming weeks.
The company also announced that it has expanded the number of supported languages for the Gemini Live service, which allows you to freely communicate with an AI chatbot. However, Gemini Live received support for Ukrainian even earlier, in the fall of last year.
Recall that last December, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv was selected to receive a $500,000 grant from the Google.org Cybersecurity Program. The funding will help students explore the capabilities of cybersecurity tools and «protect local organizations from cyberthreats.»
Earlier this month, Google’s AI Studio, its AI prototyping platform, launched the Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental model. The company says it’s «best suited for multimodal understanding, reasoning, and coding,» with the ability to «think through the most complex problems» in areas like programming, math, and physics.
