As reported in the official NVIDIA announcement, the joint hardware and software platform provides performance of up to 1 petaflops in artificial intelligence tasks, allowing you to run large language models with up to 120 billion parameters locally, without resorting to cloud servers.
The first devices based on the new chip will go on sale in the fall of 2026. The partnership with Microsoft is aimed at creating a native secure infrastructure for personal autonomous AI agents to operate directly on user devices.
«The personal computer is undergoing a complete rebirth. For forty years, you launched programs by clicking and typing. With RTX Spark and Windows, you just ask and the PC does the work. RTX Spark brings together everything we’ve built—CUDA, RTX, our AI platform—into one superchip for local agents and advanced models,» said NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang.
The RTX Spark superchip consists of an NVIDIA Blackwell RTX GPU (6,144 CUDA cores and fifth-generation tensor cores with support for FP4 computation) and a high-performance 20-core NVIDIA Grace CPU. They are interconnected by a proprietary NVLink-C2C bus.
The custom CPU was developed in collaboration with MediaTek, helping to achieve the high energy efficiency required for thin laptops. The devices will be equipped with unified memory of up to 128 GB.
With the large amount of unified memory and Blackwell architecture, professional developers and creators will be able to:
render 3D scenes over 90 GB in size;
edit video in 12K 4:2:2 format;
run local AI models with a context window of up to 1 million tokens;
play modern AAA games with ray tracing in 1440p resolution with a frame rate of over 100 frames per second.
Adobe is completely reworking its flagship products Premiere Pro and Photoshop specifically for the RTX Spark architecture. This will double the speed of tools based on Firefly generative AI and accelerate the rendering of complex video timelines. The updates to the programs will begin synchronously with the release of the new computers.
The first ultra-thin laptops (starting at 14 mm thick and weighing about 1.3 kg) and compact desktops based on RTX Spark will go on sale this fall from brands ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI and the Microsoft Surface line. Acer and GIGABYTE will also introduce their models later.
