The destruction of the facility was reported by the company's operations director, Yevhen Tafiychuk. According to him, despite the loss of a key infrastructure node, the company continues to work and asks customers to follow the tracking in the application.
"Today, the enemy destroyed the terminal. But he is not able to destroy the most important thing - the people who created it and the values on which our company is built. The main thing is that all employees are safe. Backup work schemes have been launched," Tafiychuk noted.
The Kyiv Innovation Terminal was the first sorting center in Ukraine to be fully equipped with automated sorting equipment from the Dutch company Vanderlande. The facility was built in two stages from 2015 to 2018, with a total investment of EUR 15 million.
The complex with a total area of 23,900 sq. m was responsible for sorting all parcels going from Kyiv and back. The terminal could process up to 350,000 parcels per day, which is equivalent to loading 400 trucks. The facility worked 24/7, and its functioning was ensured by 750 employees in four shifts.
This is not the first targeted attack by the Russian Federation on the operator's high-tech logistics infrastructure. Previously, Russian troops have already repeatedly attacked the innovative Nova Poshta terminal in Dnipro.
In total, four people were killed and 30 others were injured during the massive rocket attack on Kyiv on the night of June 14-15. The consequences of the shelling were recorded in nine districts of the capital. In particular, a fire broke out on the roof of the Assumption Cathedral in the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, and the Mystetsky Arsenal building also caught fire. In addition, the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio suffered significant damage: the Russian attack destroyed the largest and oldest costume collection in Ukraine.
