Destinus announced the RUTA Block 3 high-precision strike system: tests with the participation of Ukraine will begin in 2027
The European company Destinus is launching a new generation of precision strike systems with a range of up to 2,000 km — RUTA Block 3. It will be a continuation of the development of RUTA Block 1, which is being mass-produced in the Netherlands, and RUTA Block 2, which is currently undergoing tests in Ukraine with a plan to scale up production this year.
This stage of development will bring the system to the level of long-range weapons capable of destroying objects deep behind enemy lines. The main goal of the project is to launch a mass conveyor that will allow for uninterrupted supply of weapons during prolonged intensive combat operations. The start of air tests is scheduled for 2027.
Several European countries are working together on the program. The Netherlands has become the coordination center and main production site. Ukraine is responsible for testing and producing individual components, while in Germany they plan to open a joint venture with Rheinmetall for final assembly and capacity expansion.
RUTA Block 3 will receive a new turbojet engine, a warhead weighing about 250 kg, as well as the ability to operate in conditions of limited or no GPS signal. Launch is planned from container installations, which allows the system to be deployed on various platforms - land, sea or stationary.
