The Ukrainian Esports Federation (UESF) has officially disqualified legendary Counter-Strike 2 player Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostylev. The reason for the severe punishment was the Ukrainian sniper's performance in official matches together with players from the aggressor country.
The reason for the ban was the e-sportsman's activities as part of the BC.Game organization, for which he has been playing since 2025. One of Kostylev's teammates was Russian player Denis "electroNic" Sharipov. Despite the full-scale war, the Ukrainian did not refuse to perform together with the Russians, which led to a reaction from the relevant federation, Glavkom reports .
The ban will be in effect until June 30, 2027. During this period, s1mple is deprived of the right to participate in any tournaments organized by the Ukrainian Esports Federation.
In addition, the restrictions apply to all international and local competitions where UESF or its members act as partners, co-organizers or provide any other support.
