Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff said that his company has automated a significant portion of its work using AI.
«AI now does 30% to 50% of the work at Salesforce,» Benioff said, specifically in software development and customer service.
Tech leaders are increasingly talking about the potential of AI to replace human workers. Microsoft has said that AI is generating about 30% of new code on some projects. Benioff previously said that the company would no longer hire engineers by 2025 due to the impact of AI.
Salesforce is currently focused on selling an AI product that promises to perform tasks like customer service without human supervision. Benioff said the tool has achieved around 93% accuracy, including for large clients like Walt Disney, reports Bloomberg.
«We all need to realize that AI can do what we used to do,» Benioff said. «We can move on to doing higher-value work.»
Salesforce revolutionized software sales in the 2000s with its online customer management tool. Now, as the industry shifts to artificial intelligence, Benioff is fighting to keep Salesforce as the leading platform by integrating new technology into it.
