In Ukraine, the share of official sales of Apple equipment has exceeded 40%, but the «gray» market still remains a significant player.
Citrus CEO Artem Shevchenko said this in an interview with Forbes Ukraine.
According to him, despite progress in de-shadowing, the key problem is not only price. «There is strong progress in the fight against the gray market — the share of the official channel is already over 40%. But the official channel does not always have a full model range and a sufficient number of products,» he explained.
As a result, buyers often choose not the cheapest option, but the one where the device is available.
This creates a paradoxical situation: even as trust in official imports grows, demand partially flows into unofficial channels due to limited availability.
Shevchenko also noted that the electronics market in Ukraine as a whole faces a number of challenges — in particular, a staff shortage and a drop in traffic in shopping centers.
As a reminder, Artem Shevchenko headed Citrus on April 1.
