Unmanned Systems Forces are looking for IT professionals: the military is launching a digital transformation
The Unmanned Systems Force is starting a new phase of digital transformation — about 50 IT vacancies are being opened there. It’s not just about hiring, but about building a new model: each unit should have a person who «stitches» military needs with technology.
The Unmanned Systems Force is starting a new phase of digital transformation — about 50 IT vacancies are being opened there. It’s not just about hiring, but about building a new model: each unit should have a person who «stitches» military needs with technology.
The Unmanned Systems Force has begun to form a separate digital vertical — and they are already looking for specialists for it.
The idea is simple but ambitious: each unit should have a person who understands the needs of the military «on the ground», helps implement IT solutions, collects feedback and returns it to developers. In fact, this is the role of an internal product bridge between the front and technology.
The recruitment covers several areas at once. They are looking for digital division leaders (Leads), who will be responsible for implementing IT solutions and coordinating between teams. There are also open positions for project managers, who will lead digital initiatives at the division level, and business analysts — to collect and formalize requirements.
A separate focus is on working with data: data analysts will be involved in building metrics, reporting, and visualization. In parallel, they are looking for IT product support specialists who will be responsible for implementing, testing, and supporting solutions in departments.
Another area is documentation and regulations. For this, the roles of technical writers and documentation specialists have been opened, who will work with the technical and regulatory part of digital products.
Candidate requirements are generally moderate: from one year of experience in IT or related roles, a basic understanding of the product lifecycle, working with tools like Jira or Confluence, and a willingness to learn and work in a structured environment.
The selection process involves two or three stages, depending on the role. For management positions, these are interviews at the recruiting center, with the unit command and the digital transformation leadership. For others, two stages are enough.
In fact, this is an attempt to systematically integrate IT into the military not as an auxiliary function, but as a full-fledged part of operations. And if this model works, it could significantly change how technologies are created and implemented in the Armed Forces of Ukraine — closer to real needs, faster and with constant feedback.
