As Volodymyr Karastelov, the acting head of the Cybersecurity Department of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), said during a press conference at the Ministry of Justice, a cyber investigation is currently underway.
«I cannot deny that the data leak occurred, a corresponding cyber investigation is currently underway. And after receiving the data, we will provide all the necessary information,» he said.
Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Minister of Justice Olga Stefanishyna, in turn, added that before the press conference she received information from the head of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection that the data leak is not currently confirmed.
As a reminder, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine announced a large-scale cyberattack by the Russian Federation on state registers. Russian hackers attacked the state registers of Ukraine on December 19. The work of the Unified and State Registers has been temporarily suspended.
