SBU neutralizes Russian agents in Kharkiv: among those detained are employees of the mobile operator's security unit

The members of the hostile cell included the head of the security department of a mobile communications company and his subordinate. On instructions from the Russian special services, they collected personal data of Ukrainian military personnel, law enforcement officers, and the judiciary, the SBU reports .
In particular, the Russian hackers instructed them to spy on the prosecutor and judges who were handling the criminal proceedings against the propagandist who was being hidden by the attackers. To do this, the suspects used their access to the mobile operator's software, which allowed them to obtain data on telephone connections and the geolocations of subscribers.
Another agent, a resident of Kharkiv, traveled around the city and surrounding areas in their company car with two employees of the mobile operator's security unit. During the trips, he filmed defense facilities, including spare command posts, fortifications, and checkpoints of Ukrainian defenders, on his smartwatch.
The fourth member of the spy network is an employee of a local defense enterprise. On the instructions of the enemy, she rented an apartment to Ukrainian soldiers and "secretly" asked them for information about the military's deployment addresses and travel routes.
In addition, the attacker corrected and directed enemy strikes directly at the defense enterprise where she herself worked.
According to the investigation, the suspects were recruited through a Kharkiv acquaintance who, even before the start of the full-scale war, left for Russia and began working for the Russian government as a "liaison officer."
Currently, investigators of the Security Service have informed all detainees of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). The perpetrators are in custody. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
