An FSB agent was detained in Kyiv who tried to activate 148 Starlink terminals for the enemy to coordinate the Russian military operations in the Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions.

An FSB agent was detained in Kyiv who tried to activate 148 Starlink terminals for the enemy to coordinate the Russian military operations in the Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions.

According to the investigation, the enemy agent turned out to be an 18-year-old former student of a metropolitan college who was studying to be an electric welder. The guy was looking for a "quick" income in Telegram channels, where a representative of the Russian special services approached him and offered him money for cooperation.
Within days of being recruited, the suspect registered 15 Starlink terminals using the passport details of his relatives and acquaintances. He then prepared “fake” personal data to register another 133 stations.
SBU officers detained the attacker near the post office while he was trying to activate another batch of equipment. At the same time, operatives blocked the previously issued Starlinks, the details of which the detainee had already passed on to the Russian curator.
During the searches, smartphones with evidence of subversive activity were seized from the detainee. Investigators informed him of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). The perpetrator was given a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to post bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
As a reminder, on the night of October 14, the Ukrainian military encountered speed restrictions on satellite communication terminals while in motion. According to the military and the advisor to the President of Ukraine on technological issues, Serhiy "Flash" Beskrestnov, the changes concern the Starshield military package, which is used, in particular, to control drones.
