According to the SBU press service, a mobilized man was exposed in the Kirovohrad region, who, after escaping from a military unit, became an enemy agent. Russian special services recruited the deserter through a Telegram channel, where he was looking for easy money. Having received a promise of quick money from the Russian Federation, the attacker registered a Starlink terminal in his own name and transferred its details to his curator. Later, the defendant involved ten more acquaintances in the scheme, secretly registering satellite terminals on them for the needs of the Russians.
A drug addict woman was detained in Zhytomyr, who was recruited by Russian special services through Telegram channels to sell illegal substances. For money "for a dose", she agreed to register Starlink in her name and give the occupiers access codes to the satellite system. Later, the attacker involved three more accomplices in the scheme to scale up the design of new Internet terminals for the enemy.
In the Mykolaiv region, a vocational school student was exposed for helping the occupiers configure Starlink to adjust drone strikes on the southern front. The guy came to the attention of Russian special services through pro-Kremlin Telegram chats. For a monetary reward, he registered satellite terminals for himself and his relatives and planned to transfer access codes to curators from the Russian Federation.
All illegally connected Starlink terminals have already been blocked. The SBU announced the detainees as suspects under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: high treason during war, obstruction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and possession of drugs. Now the defendants face from 8 years in prison to life imprisonment with confiscation of all property.
