As reported by the SBU press center, all the detained suspects were looking for income in Telegram channels.
In Dnipro, the SBU detained a drug-addicted woman who first registered a Starlink in her name, and then began to involve her acquaintances in registering the terminals — also drug addicts who were looking for money for a «dose.»
In Zhytomyr, the Security Service detained a local unemployed woman and her friend. According to law enforcement officers, the woman in the case first registered one Starkink for herself, and then recruited a male friend, with whom they began a «serial» activation at post offices.
«To do this, the attackers used fake individuals who, for a „percentage“, provided their personal data for verification of Internet stations,» the SBU noted.
In addition to detaining the suspects, the Security Service also blocked all illegally registered Starlink systems.
The listed individuals are accused, among other things, of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and aiding an aggressor state. They face 8 to 12 years in prison.
As dev.ua wrote, a native of Luhansk region previously verified 1,000 Starlink terminals in Ukraine in the interests of the Russian Federation .
