More than 11 thousand companies ceased their activities in 11 months of 2025 according to the Unified State Register. A third of the closures fell on Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv regions. And the most vulnerable were public organizations. Enterprises in the fields of education, healthcare, and veterinary activities stayed on the market the longest.

If we study the average lifespan of a business based on the organizational and legal form of the company, joint-stock companies became the most viable — the average age of businesses closed this year reached 28 years and 7 months. Local governments lagged behind a little — 27 years and 10 months, and state-owned enterprises — 26 years and 7 months.
But the shortest lifespan was found in charitable organizations: 5 years, service cooperatives — 7 years 5 months, and LLCs — 8.5 years.
The most frequent closures were in Kyiv — 1,289 closures, or 12% of the total. Next were the Dnipropetrovsk region (824 closures), Lviv region (772), Odesa region (738), and Kyiv region (589).
The average age of companies that closed this year varies greatly. The longest-running companies were in the education sector — 23 years and 10 months, healthcare — 23 years and 7 months, and veterinary — over 22 years. The «youngest» among those that closed most often this year were companies in the IT and security sectors, where the average age was about 5 years.
