According to Scroll.media, Serhiy Portnov may return to the management of Parimatch, one of the largest Ukrainian bookmakers. However, this information has not yet been confirmed by official sources. It is known that Portnov previously held a key position at Parimatch and was one of the co-founders of the business.
In recent years, Parimatch has been operating in difficult conditions due to sanctions imposed by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, which imposed restrictions on the company’s activities in the country. As a result, the business was forced to change its strategy — to reduce its presence in Ukraine and refocus on international markets, particularly in Europe and Asia.
After Portnov left the company, new management took his place, trying to adapt the company to new realities. Earlier, the media reported that Portnov’s departure was due to his personal motives, including religious beliefs.
It is worth noting that more than six months ago, Kateryna Beloruska resigned from her position as a board member of Energame, a company that closely cooperates with Parimatch. She announced this on her LinkedIn page. However, her departure did not become the focus of media attention, and the reasons for this step were not disclosed in detail.
The situation around Parimatch remains unstable at the moment. The lack of official statements regarding personnel changes and the possible return of Portnov does not allow us to say with certainty whether a change of management will actually take place. At the same time, the betting market in Ukraine continues to be influenced by political and legal factors, which complicates the activities of local operators.
We will remind, earlier the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine secured the reimbursement of unpaid taxes to the budget by one of the well-known organizers of gambling games in the amount of over 1 billion UAH. Among these operators was also PariMatch.
