Russian Skat-350M drones have begun to be serially equipped with systems to evade interceptor drones
Manufacturers of Russian reconnaissance UAVs Skat-350M have started installing modules from the factory to evade Ukrainian FPV drones. This will make it more difficult to shoot them down.
Manufacturers of Russian reconnaissance UAVs Skat-350M have started installing modules from the factory to evade Ukrainian FPV drones. This will make it more difficult to shoot them down.
The Russians present this feature as an advantage in the SKAT-350M information booklets, reports Defence Express.
The system is based on a sensor that detects the approach of an FPV drone and signals the UAV to begin evasive maneuvers. It is currently unknown what this system looks like, despite numerous videos of its use.
After Ukrainian operators began using anti-aircraft drones to intercept Russian reconnaissance UAVs, the Russian Federation began looking for methods to counter them. These included various camouflage methods, special cameras to track the interceptors, and evasion protocols.
Earlier, radio technology specialist, military engineer and engineer Sergey «Flash» Beskrestnov warned that Russian engineers expected the massive use of Ukrainian anti-aircraft UAVs against Shahed suicide drones. They have already prepared a countermeasure solution that can be quickly installed on the Shaheds.
Defence Express indicates that the SKAT-350M is manufactured by Izhevsk Aviation Plant LLC, part of the Kalashnikov Concern. The evasion system on these drones was first spotted a few months ago, and its mass production indicates that such modules are being mass-produced.
Military expert Serhiy «Flash» said that the Russians have prepared for mass production of Ukrainian interceptor drones and created evasion systems for Shahed
