The Game Awards 2024, the annual awards ceremony for the best games of the year, was held in Los Angeles, during which loud announcements of new projects are traditionally made and the most interesting trailers are shown. Astro Bot won the Game of the Year title, but all attention was focused on other games, including the new Wargaming project, which the Kyiv studio worked on.

Ciri will become a full-fledged witcher in The Witcher IV

The cinematic debut trailer for the new part of The Witcher from Polish CD Projekt Red answers the question of who will be the protagonist this time, but also raises a few new ones.

In the video, Ciri, who Geralt searched for a good portion of the previous game, does everything that is typical of witchers — kills monsters, casts signs, and even drinks witcher elixirs. The last time players saw her, Cirilla did not pass the Herb Trial, which gives this ability and cat eyes. But it seems that many years have passed since the third part, because Ciri looks much more mature than before.

A new game from the creators of Uncharted and The Last of Us

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is a brand new sci-fi bounty hunting game from the famous Naughty Dog. Not much is known about it, including a release date, but the studio’s recent releases have been a major event in the gaming industry. The video contains a lot of details and hints, including the participation of actors Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley) and Tony Dalton (Better Call Saul).

Elden Ring spinoff with PvP and PvE

Elden Ring: Nightreign is a three-player co-op game due out in 2025, with a focus on PvP and PvE arena combat. Players noticed many mechanics and characters from previous FromSoftware games in the trailer, so this project could become a kind of Soulsverse, combining the best elements from all the studio’s works.

New game from the developers of Shadow Of The Colossus

Capcomhas announced that it is developing a sequel to Okami, with Hideki Kamiya at the helm. The original Okami is widely considered one of the best games on the PS2, and subsequent ports to the Wii and modern platforms have also garnered much praise. But after the closure of Okami’s developer, Clover Studio, nearly 20 years ago, and the lack of new games since Okamiden’s release in 2010, many thought the franchise was dead.

At The Game Awards 2024, it was announced that Hideki Kamiya and the revived Clover studio are working on a sequel to Okami with Capcom. The game was announced with a stylish trailer that, while short and lacking any actual gameplay, seemed to confirm some details about the Okami sequel. It looks like Okami 2, or whatever it’s called, will retain the original’s visual style, bring back the white wolf Amaterasu as the main character, and will also once again use the Sky Brush.

Mafia: The Old Country will be released next summer

Mafia: The Old Country has received a new trailer, offering a first look at what publisher 2K and developer Hangar 13 describe as a «linear, narrative-driven» sequel.

Mafia: The Old Country is set in 1900s Sicily, many years before the first Mafia game and its sequels. While Mafia: The Old Country takes place within the existing Mafia universe, it tells a completely new story with a new cast of characters about the origins of the The new protagonist is named Enzo, who survived a childhood of forced labor in the sulfur mines of Sicily to join Don Torrizi’s crime family.

The game will be released in the summer of 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S and will have Ukrainian text localization for the first time among 2K games.

Showcasing a new co-op game from the creators of A Way Out and It Takes Two

Hazelight Studios CEO Josef Fares is back at TGA with more swear words and a new game called Split Fiction. It’s a two-player split-screen co-op game that sees two game developers trapped in a world they created and having to play together to save themselves.

New Wargaming game — Steel Hunters

Wargaming has announced Steel Hunters, a free-to-play PvPvE shooter that combines battle royale and extraction mechanics. In a game that resembles both Transformers and Titanfall, players must control mechanical giants called Hunters, each with their own unique gameplay style. As Gamedev reports DOU, the design of the Hunters was the responsibility of the Wargaming Kyiv art team.

The game already has a page on Steam where you can apply to participate in the beta test, and currently does not support Ukrainian localization.

It’s a cooperative first-person heist shooter, sort of like Payday with the cyberpunk vibe of Syndicate. Teaming up with friends, Den of Wolves lets players carry out stealth operations and other «unauthorized missions» on behalf of their clients as they travel through the futuristic Midway City. But Sometimes plans can fail, and then you have to shoot a lot to get out of trouble.

First look at Dying Light: The Beast gameplay

Dying Light: The Beast reintroduces players to Kyle Crane, the protagonist of the first installment in the series, whose selflessness during the first outbreak of the virus saved many, but the reward for this was 13 years of imprisonment and various experiments on him.
