Today, November 3, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine officially launched an artificial intelligence assistant named "Lexa" on its website. The new service will provide citizens with quick information support regarding public services - from registering a marriage or the birth of a child to registering an inheritance and registering property.
Today, November 3, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine officially launched an artificial intelligence assistant named "Lexa" on its website. The new service will provide citizens with quick information support regarding public services - from registering a marriage or the birth of a child to registering an inheritance and registering property.
The "Leksi" widget is located in the lower right corner of the official web portal of the Ministry of Justice. Users can learn about:
comprehensive lists of required documents;
links to official forms, forms and state registers.
Answers are formed exclusively on the basis of the verified knowledge base of the Ministry of Justice, created and updated by the ministry's experts in accordance with current legislation.
The Ministry of Justice emphasizes that Lexa was developed in compliance with strict security standards:
does not provide legal advice that may serve as the basis for making legally significant decisions;
does not collect personal data of users;
does not assess individual legal situations and does not have access to external sources or third-party systems.
"It is important for us that technology does not replace specialists, but takes on some of the typical requests. This allows us to answer frequently asked questions faster and frees up operators' time for more complex cases," said Yegor Razogreev, Director General of the Directorate for Digital Development of the Ministry of Justice.
The technological solution was developed by the team of the Ukrainian startup OBRIY.ai. They became the winners of an open competition within the first stream of the open innovation program GovTech Lab Ukraine from the Global Government Technology Centre (GGTC) Kyiv.
The project was implemented with the assistance of the Ministry of Digital Economy, the World Economic Forum (WEF), and with the support of Switzerland within the framework of the EGAP Program, implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation. The creation of "Lexa" took place without attracting funds from the state budget.
"The path from idea to implementation has gone through several important stages - from submitting the project over a year ago to today's full-fledged launch. This is further proof that an effective partnership between the state and business provides qualitative changes for every Ukrainian," emphasized Olga Ryabukha, Deputy Minister of Justice for Digital Development.
