the development of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence Security;
semiconductor industry and cybersecurity;
implementing AI in government services and the public sector;
development of computing infrastructure and data centers.
«Artificial intelligence is probably the most important technology in human history. Its impact will overshadow everything else,» Narayan said on the X network. In his opinion, the positive scenario involves the reindustrialization of Britain, strengthening national security and transforming public services. At the same time, the minister acknowledged the risks, emphasizing that society has reason to worry about the threat to jobs and the rapid pace of change.
Industry experts say the new AI leader faces a number of difficult challenges. In particular, Narayan will have to find a balance between economic growth and protecting workers from layoffs due to automation.
Another critical issue is the expansion of data centers and the power grid. To ensure computing power, the British government needs to focus on providing reliable electricity and addressing environmental issues such as the amount of water to cool servers.
Recall that the Ukrainian government plans to give the green light to the use of artificial intelligence in public administration. According to the new Concept of Digital Transformation, AI will not only appear in the «Diya» application, but will also become a daily tool for analytics and searching for corrupt officials in the offices of civil servants.
