The Templar Code or 19th Century Poetry? Claude Solved the Mystery of a Stone Near a Castle in the Lviv Region

The long-standing mystery of an encrypted inscription on a stone near Zolochiv Castle in the Lviv region has been solved - thanks to artificial intelligence algorithms. Instead of medieval ciphers of the Order of the Templars, artificial intelligence recognized in the letters and dots a touching fragment from classical Polish poetry of the 19th century.

AI assistant Claude processed encrypted symbols that have caused speculation and conspiracy theories among visitors and researchers of the castle for decades, reports the Lviv National Gallery of Arts named after B. G. Voznytsky.

The study was conducted by researcher Artur Ratynskyi, who digitized the captions from the photographs and used artificial intelligence to analyze them. The AI algorithm deciphered the coding principle and found the necessary original source.

The AI determined that the text on the stone was not a complex cipher. It only had the first letters of the words carved on it, and each missing letter was encrypted with the corresponding number of dots. The AI correctly identified the Gothic letters, taking into account graphic features (for example, distinguishing the Gothic “c” that looked like an “r” and the ancient long “ſ” as the letter “s”).

The AI also analyzed the digital archive of Polish classical texts at Wikisource. The algorithm matched the sequence of 28 initial letters and the number of dots between them to thousands of poetic lines.

Artificial intelligence found an exact match in the collection "Trains" by the prominent Polish poet Jan Kochanowski. The AI deciphered the inscription as four lines from "Train XII":

My only ear,

Jeszcześ mi się był nie stahl, a ja twej hogynie

Nie czekając, znowu cię w sadną ziemię sieję:

Ale pospołu z tobą grzebię i hope;

In the Ukrainian translation, the decoded AI text reads as follows:

"My only colossus,

You haven't reached me yet, and I, your hour

Without waiting, I sow you again in the sad earth;

"And with you I hide hope."

Thanks to artificial intelligence analysis, scientists have changed the idea of the artifact's origin. Since "Train XII" is a father's lament for his dead child, the AI confirmed the hypothesis that the stone is a 19th-century memorial tombstone (cenotaph) erected by grieving parents.

Now scientists plan to use the potential of AI to solve the second mysterious stone with a solid halo, which is still awaiting its deciphering analysis.
