Ministry of Digital Transformation employees use AI-based software on their laptops that tracks cyber threats

Fedorov said this during the event «The Great Digital Transformation. Dialogues about the Future», writes Hromadske with reference to NV. According to him, the state protects itself from cyber threats at a level worthy of a large IT business.

«Believe me, the number of attacks that occur in cyberspace is incredible. We have thousands of attacks every month. The state is going through this path quite well», — said Mikhail Fedorov.

According to him, each employee of the Ministry of Digital Transformation has «special AI-based software» installed, which analyzes the user’s behavior on the laptop. «If there are anomalies, the system reacts instantly. This way, we have already detected several viruses that even antiviruses did not see,» the head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation claims.

Fedorov added that his ministry has reached an agreement with a major donor that will fund cyber defense tenders for both state and private entities.

In early June, it was reported that Ukrainian critical infrastructure was targeted by a new type of malware, the PathWiper virus, which erases data without the possibility of recovery. According to researchers, the attack was carried out by a group of Russian origin with experience in using such tools.

Recall that on June 17, it was announced that Kyivstar will directly be involved in the creation of the Ukrainian national LLM, plans for which the Ministry of Digital Affairs announced in March.
