The Shvidun interceptor drone (also known as Vidun, Vidun or ShVidun) was developed in Ukraine to defeat Russian attack drones such as Shahed-136, Geran, Gerber, Zala, Supercam and Skat reconnaissance drones.
It has the following characteristics:
«The range of this drone is over 70 km. This is enough to cover the sky over any Ukrainian city,» the Ministry of Defense says .
The department notes that the Shvidun’s body is made of durable composite material and does not vibrate at high speeds, which allows the camera to transmit the clearest possible image to the operator. The UAV also has a low take-off and landing speed, which allows it to be landed in case of loss of target and used a second time.
«The first aircraft are already working, protecting Ukrainian cities. Currently, the Shvidun UAV has one of the highest kill rates of enemy „shaheeds“ among Ukrainian-made interceptor drones. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have already destroyed about a hundred aggressor drones with the help of this drone,» the Ministry of Defense claims.
On Brave1 Market, the Shvidun costs UAH 160,000. The developers note that its design provides for «the possibility of installing drone cannons on board.»
