19% of IT professionals who participated in the survey changed jobs in the second half of 2025, and most of them moved to a new company with higher pay.
Thus, 67% of those who changed jobs received a higher salary at their new place, 17% of IT workers did not experience any significant financial changes after changing employers, and another 16% agreed to lower wages.
«Among those whose salary increased after the transition, the average increase is $600, or 36%. But it depends a lot on experience and other factors. Food companies offer the highest chances of promotion and the biggest increase in money. Switching to a lower salary means, on average, a loss of $500, or 20% of previous income,» the publication states.

Among those who received higher salaries after the transition, the most were product designers, DevOps specialists, marketers, and analysts. However, if we take into account the survey data, project managers, recruiters, HR managers, and sales specialists most often agreed to lower salaries.
The survey includes responses from 1,930 IT professionals living in Ukraine and was conducted in December 2025.
As we wrote earlier, DevOps and AI engineers live in a different IT market than everyone else. Meanwhile, only one in three designers finds work, and 67% of IT professionals aged 45+ experience age discrimination.
