Google has integrated a new feature into its Chrome web browser called Skills that will allow users to save and reuse their favorite text queries to artificial intelligence. They can be run on different web pages without having to type them again.
The feature is part of Google’s integration of its Gemini AI into Chrome. Gemini already lets users ask questions about a web page, summarize information on it, or perform various tasks. Skills makes it easier to work with AI assistants by providing prompts that can be easily returned to.
«If you’ve written a query that you want to use again, you can save it as a Skill directly from your chat history. The next time you need it, select your saved Skill in Gemini in Chrome by typing a forward slash (/) or clicking the plus (+) button, and your Skill will launch on the page you’re viewing, as well as any other tabs you choose,» Google explains .
Users can edit saved prompts and create new ones at any time.
The company provided several examples of the use of «skills» used by the function testers:
Health: Quick calculation of protein macronutrients for any recipe. Shopping: create comparison tables of features in multiple tabs Productivity: Scan long documents to find important information.
For example, if a user often asks Gemini to suggest vegan substitutes while browsing recipe sites, they can now save that suggestion and use it across different web pages.
Skills are built on Chrome’s security and privacy systems and use the same protections as Gemini requests in Chrome. This means that a Skills request will require confirmation before performing certain actions, such as adding an event to your calendar or sending an email.
Як нейромережі бачать вільну та незалежну Україну? Тест dev.ua
