Ukrainian drone manufacturer Skyeton is now fully manufacturing its Raybird reconnaissance systems in Slovakia. This move has strengthened the company's position both in the EU market and beyond.
Skyeton, known for its Raybird unmanned aerial vehicles, has set up production in the European Union. The new production facility is located in Slovakia at Tropozond sro, part of the Skyeton Group. As reported in The Defender , the launch of a European site allows the company to reduce logistics times and enhance technical support for European partners.
The Raybird-3 (military designation ACS-3) is a versatile platform used for both tactical reconnaissance and search and rescue operations. The civilian version of the Raybird-3 has limited functionality, but the military version is supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and features electronic warfare (EW) protection and the ability to fly autonomously along a predetermined route.
One of the main advantages of the system is the duration of the flight: a drone weighing 21 kg is able to stay in the air for more than 24 hours and cover more than 2,000 km. The direct control range is up to 240 km, the cruising speed is 120 km/h, the maximum speed is 160 km/h.
Production of Ukrainian UAVs in European Union countries
Amid the full-scale war in Ukraine, Ukrainian UAV manufacturers are increasing exports and localizing production in Europe. This not only speeds up deliveries, but also minimizes political and logistical risks for foreign customers. Skyeton's entry into the European market as a local manufacturer is a strategic step that can provide the company with stable demand in the military and civilian sectors.
Skyeton previously specialized in supplying light sport aircraft, but since 2006 the company has been gradually refocusing on unmanned aviation. It already has the relevant export permits and a strategic partnership with Danish Quadsat, a developer of radio frequency monitoring technologies. As part of the partnership, Skyeton is integrating analytical tools into its Raybird-3 platform.
Recall that we also wrote about how the Ukrainian developer of reconnaissance complexes Skyeton presented the modified Remora ammunition for the Raybird drone at the XPONENTIAL Europe exhibition in Düsseldorf.
