Ukrainian defense technology developer SkyFall and European aerospace giant Airbus Defence and Space have signed a memorandum of strategic partnership. The alliance will focus on integrating Ukrainian technologies into the European security system and strengthening the protection of Ukrainian airspace from missile and drone attacks.

The companies announced the signing of the agreement on June 12, 2026, during the ILA Berlin Air Show. The ceremony was attended by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
One of the key practical areas of cooperation will be the integration of Ukrainian P1-SUN interceptor drones with the European Airbus Air C2 airspace management complex. This will allow combining Western systemic expertise in air defense management with Ukrainian solutions that have been tested in combat conditions.
«P1-SUN interceptors have already destroyed about 10,000 Russian drones of various types, confirming the effectiveness of the technology. This became the basis for a partnership with Airbus, within the framework of which we are working on creating a multi-level air defense system of the next generation,» SkyFall noted.
Airbus Defence and Space CEO Michael Schellhorn emphasized that countering massive drone attacks requires technological flexibility and rapid cooperation between countries.
«Our alliance should bridge the gap between traditional defense systems and innovations with a short development cycle. On the Airbus side, there is systemic experience in the field of integrated air and missile defense (IAMD), on the Ukrainian side, invaluable combat experience. Together, this will become another building block in creating a sustainable multi-layered air defense system,» said Schellhorn.
This partnership will also support the goals of the European Sky Shield Initiative (ESSI) to create a unified air defense system on the continent and promote industrial solidarity between Ukraine and the EU.
Previously, Airbus Helicopters and German defense startup Quantum Systems signed an agreement that involves the integration of Quantum Systems' drone interception systems on board Airbus military helicopters .
Recall that SkyFall is a Ukrainian technological and defense company that combines an R&D center, production lines, and its own academy for training pilots and instructors. In addition to the P1-SUN interceptor drones, the company develops and certifies the Vampire heavy bomber drones (which the Russians call «Baba Yaga»), the Shrike FPV drones, as well as specialized communication systems and engineering components for the front.
