Ukrainian startup Spendbase, which develops an expense management platform for businesses, has raised funding from the Dnipro VC investment fund.
This was reported to Scroll.media by Dnipro VC co-founder Mariana Boneki. According to her, the fund decided to make the investment because Spendbase is «led by an exceptional founder.»
The head of Spendbase is Andriy Alekseenko, who is also a co-founder of the KOLO charitable foundation, which actively helps the Ukrainian army. This is a fund of the Ukrainian tech community, founded in March 2022 by top managers of IT companies. As of 2024, the fund has collected and helped defenders with almost 700 million hryvnias.
«In addition, our decision is also dictated by the desire to support the new generation of Ukrainian unicorns — we see in this company the potential to become one of them,» added Boneki.
The amount of Dnipro VC’s investment in Spendbase is not disclosed, but the fund’s average check is from $250,000 to $1 million. In 2024, the startup already received 50,000 euros under the Seeds of Bravery program.
At the beginning of the summer, Spendbase launched digital banking and virtual cards .
«Spendbase does not aim to replace your bank or existing cards. Each card has different objectives and benefits. Think of Spendbase as the card that allows you to save the most. It is an addition to your financial stack, aimed at eliminating unnecessary expenses,» said Spendbase CMO Maksym Bondarenko.
