On February 24, Hetmantsev reported that he had contacted the Prosecutor General «regarding the violations discovered by PlayCity.» On February 26, he spoke about the registration of criminal proceedings.
«I thank the Prosecutor General’s Office for its immediate response to the obvious crime committed by the infamous PlayCity. A criminal case has been opened,» said Danylo Hetmantsev.
He attached letters from the Prosecutor General’s Office to his post, which indicate that a criminal case has been opened for abuse of office by «unidentified officials of the State Agency of Ukraine PlayCity» during the competition of state lottery operators.
Earlier, Hetmantsev called the competition for lottery licenses «a distribution to existing monopolists without competition.»
«I would like to personally congratulate Oleksandr Bornyakov and Gennady Novikov from Mykhailo Fedorov’s star team on the successful implementation of the project to distribute licenses to existing monopoly lottery operators, through a formal non-competitive process, without the admission of foreigners,» said the head of the Verkhovna Rada’s Finance Committee.
Danylo Hetmantsev noted that the corresponding license was obtained by the Ukrainian National Lottery, which, according to him, does not meet the necessary requirements.
Previously, he sharply criticized the implementation of the first phase of the State Online Gambling Monitoring System (DSOM).
