American officials are convinced that the agreement will help the Ukrainian Armed Forces respond more effectively to current and future threats thanks to a more powerful air defense capability.
The statement said the main contractors will be American companies Sierra Nevada Corporation and V2X, as well as Ukrainian companies Radionix and Systems Electronic Export. However, it did not specify who would pay or reimburse the costs under the agreement.
«Any compensation agreement will be determined during negotiations between the buyer and the contractor,» the agency noted.
The report states that military aid to Ukraine will not affect US defense capabilities.
