European defense technology company STARK is opening an R&D center in Kyiv, which will provide local training and ongoing user support.
STARK specializes in the development of UAVs, in particular Virtus kamikaze drones. The company’s Ukrainian R&D center provides a 2,000 m² area, designed to accommodate more than 200 specialists. The center will focus on research and development, integration, training and technical support.
Opening an R&D center in Ukraine will allow the company to conduct daily technological iterations based on real operational data directly from the battlefield. This approach significantly shortens the development and implementation cycle of updates and ensures that the UAV meets modern frontline challenges.

«Russia’s war against Ukraine has radically changed the security landscape of Europe. Russia has reorganized its defense industry to wage war, and this conflict has shown that deterrence now depends not only on military capabilities, but also on the ability to ensure stable production,» added COO of STARK Ukraine Maksym Cherkis.
STARK also plans to further expand its research and engineering presence in Ukraine, from R&D to full-scale UAV production. In addition, STARK is opening a new office in Greece.
This is a German defense startup valued at over €1 billion, founded in 2024. STARK specializes in next-generation unmanned systems that combine artificial intelligence and electronic warfare resistance. The company is present in Germany, Sweden, Ukraine and the UK, and its headquarters are located in Berlin.
