The Starlink/Starshield satellite communication in Ukraine has started operating at speeds exceeding 161 km/h. The Ministry of Defense reported this. Specialists are continuing testing to determine the maximum speed at which the terminals maintain a connection.
Experts are currently testing the connection at higher speeds and determining how fully its functionality has been restored, Babel writes. The final upper limits have not yet been determined.
Why the Starshield restriction became a problem
On the night of October 14, SpaceX, without warning, restricted the operation of Starshield terminals in Ukraine. According to Babel, they stopped working when the speed exceeded 160 km/h.
This created problems for the use of satellite communications when intercepting Shahed-type jet drones. For such missions, it is important that the communication channel remains available during the rapid movement of the platform.
Who imposed the restrictions?
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that the order to restrict the movement came from the US government. The American side denied this.
"Currently, we are not recording the lifting of restrictions on Starlink," — Sergey "Flash" on Trump’s statement. The Ministry of Defense also does not confirm the lifting of limits
