The Ministry of Digital Affairs warned that new inspections could delay IT companies from receiving criticality for at least a month

It may become more difficult for Ukrainian IT companies to obtain the status of critical enterprises. After the summer review, 1,930 residents of Diia City, out of approximately 2,500 who previously had this status, confirmed their criticality. New checks are now being discussed, which could delay the consideration of applications by at least a month.

This is reported by DOU, citing data from the Ministry of Digital Affairs and comments from representatives of the IT industry.

However, this does not mean that the remaining companies that did not confirm criticality through Action City have lost it. Some of them may have confirmed it through other government agencies. It is currently unknown how many companies actually lost this status and how many employees were left without reservations.

But the changes may not end there. The government is discussing the possibility of re-approving the criticality criteria and additional verification of applications by a special coordination headquarters.

During a meeting with participants of the Lviv IT Cluster on October 16, representatives of the Ministry of Digital Affairs explained that this could cause the review of applications to take at least a month longer. It has not yet been determined how exactly the new review will work and whether companies will be able to appeal the decision.

And the IT Ukraine Association fears that the new restrictions will hit teams and contract execution, including defense ones. For most of the association's member companies, the reservation quota is already 50% of military-duty employees, and it may be reduced even further.

Business representatives emphasize that over the past five months, companies have repeatedly had to adapt to new requirements. Now they are asking for clear rules to be established for at least six months or a year so that work can be planned and contracts not broken.

Digital Transformation Minister Oksana Ferchuk noted that the booking rules should prevent abuse but not hinder the work of companies. However, she has not yet assessed the proposed changes and called for waiting for the final document.

Previously, dev.ua wrote that the Cabinet of Ministers plans to adopt new booking rules by the end of the week.
