The Ukrainian team Satellite235 is developing the game Stellar Freight: Echoes of the Void — a space adventure in the spirit of FTL about the captain of a long-range cargo ship.
According to the developers, Stellar Freight is a project about «survival, responsibility, and a constant lack of resources.» Players will need to manage the crew of their ship, upgrade, trade, fight, and complete tasks to survive as long as possible.
«Everything in the game is built around the main goal — to survive. Fuel is limited. Credits are not eternal. Pirates and foreign factions lurk around every turn. Sometimes you have to choose: to refuel — or to save resources for repairs. To save someone — or to pass by. This is a game about decisions that will make you think more than once,» the studio describes Stellar Freight.
The player will be led by a crew of commander, engineer and navigator. They have a level and experience that increase over time. Their level opens up new opportunities in dialogues, affects events, and improves bonuses. The player will be able to hire new people, fire old ones, or interact with them through in-game dialogues.
Stellar Freight: Echoes of the Void is scheduled for release in 2025. The game already has a Steam page and a demo, which recently received a major update with new content in preparation for Steam Next Fest.
