UAV manufacturer WIY Drones is integrating rocket boosters into its STRILA-2 interceptor drones, thanks to an investment from Quantum Systems.
This was reported to the Military edition by the Managing Director of Quantum Systems Ukraine, Oleksandr Berezhny. According to him, STRILA-2 will be equipped with accelerators used in Quantum Systems' Jäger drones.
The rocket booster allows the drone to quickly gain altitude of several kilometers. Further flight is provided by the main electric motors. In addition to this technology, WIY Drones interceptors will receive AI technologies from Quantum Systems.
Recall that Quantum Systems received a contract from the Defense Forces to supply 15,000 interceptor drones. To fulfill the order, it invested in the Ukrainian manufacturer of unmanned systems WIY Drones.
The Ukrainian company produces STRILA interceptor drones, designed to engage fast and maneuverable aerial targets. They can be launched from special mobile platforms to quickly respond to an enemy target, and reach speeds of over 300 km/h.
