«The Defense Forces of Ukraine are continuing to build capabilities to counter Shahed-type strike drones… We are creating an echeloned system to counter enemy Shaheds and Geraniums,» Syrsky noted in his Facebook post following the results of the relevant meeting.
According to him, the current task is to form more crews, train more fighter operators, and provide them with more effective weapons and radar.
«The air defense direction is a priority for the state, the Armed Forces, and for me personally as the Commander-in-Chief. After all, the security of the Ukrainian rear depends on the effectiveness of our „anti-shaheed“ system and the reliability of missile defense. Therefore, we continue the selection of personnel to staff the crews of UAV interceptors, and we are forming new regular units,» said Syrsky.
We will remind you that a new version of Shahed drones was recently discovered in Ukraine: they are equipped with cameras and an antenna system that allows the operator to control them online from the Russian Federation.
At the same time, the founder of the «Return Alive» foundation , Taras Chmut, considers the Shahed kamikaze drone to be the best in the world in its niche. He noted that in Ukraine there are at least three analogues that are outwardly similar to the «Shaheeds», but they are inferior in quality and cost.
