Ukrainian TAF Industries develops "shaheed hunters" and target identification and search systems
The founder of the Ukrainian defense company TAF Industries, Oleksandr Yakovenko, spoke about the shipment of the first 10,000 automatic aiming modules and work on new products.
The founder of the Ukrainian defense company TAF Industries, Oleksandr Yakovenko, spoke about the shipment of the first 10,000 automatic aiming modules and work on new products.
As Yakovenko reported in an interview with DOU, TAF Industries was one of the first to codify «last mile» modules for automatic drone landing.
«A team of four experienced specialists and two juniors created the product in nine months — from start to codification. This is the fastest result among all those who have already codified their products. Given the limited budget, I consider this case to be successful, even though the product can still be improved,» noted the company’s founder.
He added that after the start of mass production, TAF Industries has already shipped the first 10,000 such modules and is preparing to deliver another 10,000.
«We are currently working on new solutions: target identification and search systems, as well as air-to-air technologies for detecting and destroying enemy drones. We are talking about the so-called „shaheed hunters,“» Oleksandr Yakovenko teased the new products.
According to him, TAF Industries currently employs about 1,000 people, including a hundred IT specialists. Teams of 3 to 12 specialists usually work on one development project at the company.
«For example, Power Key is a system that allows a drone to remain in ambush without using a battery. It was developed by three specialists in three months. The initiation system or the mat system requires a few more people,» Yakovenko said.
He clarified that large projects such as reconnaissance drones require the cooperation of several units at once, and their teams can reach 20-50 specialists.
Recall that in early August, TAF Drones, known for the production of Kolibri FPV drones, announced a rebranding to TAF Industries to emphasize its growth and increase production to 80,000 UAVs per month.
The company also announced mass production of the new Kolibri 13 FR1 repeater drone, which is designed to operate in difficult terrain and under the influence of electronic warfare (EW) equipment.
