Bolt, Uklon and Uber asked for permission to drive during curfew in Kyiv due to the energy situation
Ride-hailing services Bolt, Uklon, and Uber have appealed to Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko with a joint statement requesting permission for taxis to operate during curfew hours.
Ride-hailing services Bolt, Uklon, and Uber have appealed to Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko with a joint statement requesting permission for taxis to operate during curfew hours.
This was reported by «Economic Truth» with reference to a joint statement from the three services. It notes that Bolt, Uklon, and Uber are ready to work during curfew from January 17 to help Kyiv residents during the prolonged power outage.
The services believe that this will help people get to the Points of Invincibility, warm and safe places, and improve the situation with the delivery of food and medicine.
«We understand that the issue of curfew is sensitive and directly related to security. At the same time, the practice of crisis periods shows that it is controlled and regulated mobility that can reduce chaos and increase safety when citizens need access to heat, communication and assistance,» Bolt, Uklon and Uber said in a statement.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister for the Recovery of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba reported that the government had adopted amendments to the resolution that allow regions to introduce flexible curfew rules for the period of the energy emergency.
They provide that during an energy emergency, access to the Inviolability Points will be available 24 hours a day and no passes are required. Private transport is also allowed if a person is traveling specifically to the Inviolability Point.
Indestructibility points can be shops, pharmacies, gas stations, service establishments, and shopping and entertainment centers if they have:
autonomous power supply;
heating;
stable connection;
extension cords and complimentary hot tea.
Kyiv is expected to be the first city to implement flexible curfew rules. In the summer, Bolt, Uklon, and Uber sent a joint letter to the capital’s authorities and the National Police with a proposal to introduce an official model for taxi operations at night, citing the example of Lviv.
