The Lviv IT Cluster explains the decision by the need to conduct an internal audit and rethink the media format. The team must analyze which topics and formats have been the most successful over the past year and a half and how well they meet the needs of the technology industry.
After that, the Cluster plans to return to the project with a renewed vision. At the same time, it is currently unknown when exactly Scroll.media can resume work, what its format will be, who will join the new team, and how the media will be financed.
«The decision to restart was made by the management of the Lviv IT Cluster after a conversation with the team. I agreed with it. The current Scroll.media team is stopping work on the publication and moving on to other projects,» media manager Ilya Kabachynsky told Forbes.
Kabachinsky himself is also leaving the project.
Recall that Scroll.media was launched on January 17, 2025 as a media outlet about Ukrainian technology business, startups, investments, deals, and decision-makers in the IT industry. The project had an atypical launch model for the Ukrainian media market. It was supported by almost 30 IT companies that were part of the Lviv IT Cluster. The amount of initial investment was not disclosed at the time. The minimum investment in creating such a publication could be about $10,000. At the same time, not all large companies — members of the Cluster — financed Scroll.media. In particular, EPAM, Intellias, and PeopleForce told Forbes that they did not participate in financing the publication and did not have the details of its business model.
Thus, a year and a half after its launch, Scroll.media is actually taking a break. The cluster is not closing the project completely, but has not yet announced the timing of a possible restart.
