Ukrainian startup Gainers launched an AI coach that doesn't send push notifications, but calls the user
Ukrainian entrepreneur and product manager Andriy Shpak has launched the Gainers app, which uses an unusual way to motivate users to achieve personal goals. Instead of the usual push notifications, the service allows you to set up regular calls from a voice AI coach that remembers previous conversations and asks about the completion of specific tasks.
As Andriy told dev.ua, the application is currently available for iPhone in the App Store in Ukrainian and English. Basic functions can be used for free, and the team promises to release an Android version in the near future.

How Gainers works
After creating a goal, the app generates a step-by-step plan of 10–14 tasks. The user can then choose when the AI coach will call to remind them of the next step.
According to the project founder, it is the phone call that should become an alternative to regular reminders. «You can dismiss a notification and forget about it or not see it at all. A call is not: you have to either pick up the phone or deliberately hang up. This is what changes behavior, because you can no longer pretend that you simply didn’t notice the reminder,» he explains.
The conversation lasts one to two minutes. During it, the user can mark the completed step or postpone it to another day.
In addition to calls, there are over a dozen other tools
In addition to a voice coach, Gainers offers personalized reminders generated for a specific goal, an internal resource («energy») assessment system, a Telegram secretary, a focus timer, as well as tools for working together on goals.
If the user does not make progress towards a goal for several days, the application does not simply remind them of the task, but offers to assess their own state — for example, their level of concentration, motivation or energy — and recommends actions that can help them get back to work.
First results
According to the team, in the first weeks after launch, eight out of ten users who created a goal completed at least one step of their plan. More than half of those who spoke with the voice coach at least once returned to it again.
Most often, users set health-related goals.
Gainers development began in late 2025. The product is currently only available on the App Store, but the team is already working on an Android version.
The authors mention cooperation with coaches, psychologists, educational organizations, and businesses among the areas of development. They also consider the possibility of using the application to support veterans and military personnel returning to civilian life.
